Veterans Day 2010

Scott had the opportunity to share his story of dealing with depression and dealing with loss at the Profootball Hall of Fame Veterans Day event on Saturday, November 6, 2010. It was a great time to visit with other military families and veterans.

Ohio Medal of Distinction

On Wednesday, November 10 at 1 pm the Ohio General Assembly the Ohio Medal of Distinction will be presented to the Ohio Gold Star families.  The legislation to establish this medal was presented by Scott and Melissa Warner to State Senator Kirk Schuring in August 2007. It was included in omnibus SB 248 by State Senator Austria and signed into law in January2009.  Scott was part of the committee that designed the award and it is a thrill to see the actual medal will honor the fallen heroes and their families this week after a three year effort by so many dedicated people. We thank the State Senator Kirk Schuring and those involved for making this a reality.

The Marine Corp Marathon October 31, 2010

Scott successfully completed the 35th Marine Corp Marathon on October 31, 2010.  This was a great event and one that did not seem likely to happen. Scott completed his first half Marathon this spring and was training for the full marathon through the summer.  He suffered a stress fracture on the underside of his patella about    eight weeks out from the Marine Corp Marathon. He was instructed by his Dr. not to  run and there may be a chance he could run the marathon.  Scott ran the marathon with his brother Jeff which was a great experience for both of them. This was Jeff’s 5th Marine Corp Marathon and Scott’s first marathon.
