Life after the race

Since the race we have been very busy as we are builiding a new house and getting our current house ready for sale. We are wrapping up the race details and should be paying our final race bills and getting closer to releasing a final profit figure.  We are so excited that the race was such a success.  Last weekend we had a cookout with our race committee in appreciation for all their generous support.  It was a great time!!! Thanks again team…you are awesome!!!  We had special medals and plaques made for our team, blue and silver star sponsors which we presented over the last couple of weeks.  Our team was very generous and surprised Melissa and I with a hot air balloon ride….how exciting and thoughtful….thanks guys!!!

Shane Claus (USA) - Special Edition Santa

Shane Claus (USA) – Special Edition Santa

Shane Claus has the most solemn duty of any Santa. He receives the remains of fallen Soldiers, Sailors, Airman, Marines and Coast Guard and escorts them to their final resting place. His heart is heavy for the selfless service these amazing men and women have shown in life and now in death. His job as a Santa is to bring gifts and cheer to the world. But he knows that no gift in his bag can match the gift each fallen American has bestowed upon their country.

Note about Shane Claus:
The idea for Shane Claus came to us from a collector who lost her nephew (Pvt. Heath Warner) in the Iraq war. We knew her nephew’s death was just one in thousands that have touched millions of lives. So it was with a great deal of deliberation and prayer that we decided to do an Old World Santa that could serve as a daily reflection for folks that have lost their family and/or friends to the cause of liberating the world from Islamo fascists and their enslaving and destructive ideology.

The first Shane Claus is dedicated to her nephew, who’s inscription is on the headstone pictured on the story card and label for Shane Claus.

The name “Shane” was chosen as the name for this Old World Santa because 1st Lt. Therrel Shane Childers was 30 years old when he became the first military casualty of the Iraq war.

Each Shane Claus’ headstone will be customized to the specific information given to us by the collector purchasing the santa. Please put all the pertinent details in the comments section when checking out.

If you are fortunate enough to not have been touched by war, yet still like to have Shane Claus as a daily reminder of our military’s incredible sacrifice, we’ll select a particular serviceman or woman to memorialize for you.

Price: $70.00

Scott Warner joins the Greater Canton Veterans Council

Scott recently attended his first Greater Canton Veterans Council representing the Gold Star families of Stark county.  This should be a great way to network with the veterans in the area and connect them with the families of the fallen heroes.
